These are links to places I regularly visit, I created or I have some fondness for. They are in no particular order and will open in a new window. Enjoy!
Local Dog Parks: Ft. Woof (voted the number one dog park in America by Dog Fancy magazine readers) and Paw Pals of Grand Prarie.
Wag Time's My Space page has lots of pictures and video of pets playing at Wag Time!
Urban Animal Magazine - This is a fantastic publication! I had to call and beg to get on their distribution list since moving to Arlington. Come by to pick up a free issue anytime.
Just by visiting their site daily and clicking the 'Fund Food For Animals' button, their sponsors provide food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. They even have a nifty toolbar and an email reminder.
Find Pet Care.com is a cool site that lets you find day care and boarding in zip codes across the US. It's great if you're planning to travel with your pets.
The Metroplex Animal Coalition. This organization is an alliance of 501(C)3 animal welfare organizations in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties whose members have joined together in order to reduce the killing of dogs and cats in municipal animal shelters and humane societies.
Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets (CLASP) - CLASP is a non-profit organization with a sole mission to be the voice of the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Center, on matters of animal welfare in our community. They raise money and awareness for the Fort Worth Animal Care Control Center - Texas. All monies go directly to the shelter and its causes.
Operation Kindness is the oldest and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. We routinely take up donations and collections to take to them.
Texas is offering an animal-friendly license plate for light trucks and cars. Sales of these plates will contribute to a Texas wide program that will provide grants to shelters for low-cost spay or neuter. The fee for these plates is $30 in addition to the regular vehicle registration fee. $22 of the fee will be credited to an animal-friendly account and $8 will be applied to the state for administrative costs. The success of this program is in the hands of all TEXANS, so spread the word and help save the lives of animals across our great state!
Botanically based skin care products - I love this stuff because not only does it work well, it is never tested on animals and it contains no animal products or by-products.
The American Boarding Kennels Association (ABKA) - We are proud members and I like the information they relay on their site.
